Story Behind the Coffee

Shamran is a hamlet in the Haraaz region of Sana’a, and acts as a connecting point for the nearby villages. The story and social fabric of Shamran is incomplete without the mention of its school, where children from other villages also come to study. While being co-educational i.e. teaching both boys and girls, the school also provides vocational training and emphasises extracurricular activities. Unfortunately, like most institutions, the school lacks basic facilities, like access to electricity, water and basic healthcare due to its location in the mountains of Haraaz. Outside of school hours, the grounds also acts as a meeting place for the residents of Shamran, where events and celebrations take place.
